Lib Dems select Robin Stephens to contest Cobham & Downside

A strong local voice for Cobham & Downside

Robin Stephens has been chosen as the Liberal Democrat candidate for the Cobham and Downside by-election on 1st July and is the only candidate who can defeat the Conservatives.

Robin, who lives in Cobham with his wife and two young children, is a tech entrepreneur who has established several successful businesses. He is currently growing a new technology business, Cirrom, which employs people locally at its Brooklands head office. Robin’s children both go to local schools.

Better representation for Cobham

Cobham has been let down for years by its Conservative Councillors who have always taken the ward for granted. Robin will be an active Councillor and is standing on a platform to get things done. His priorities:

  • Preserving the Green Belt and our local environment
  • Re-opening Painshill fire station 24 hours a day
  • Supporting local businesses build back from the pandemic

Robin says “Never before have the needs of our village been at such odds with the desires of the Tory-controlled Surrey County Council and Tory-run national Government. Our village needs a strong local voice and someone prepared to stand up for our community.

“I live in the village and have two young children at local schools. So I know only too well the importance of our local services and the need for a passionate voice to defend them.”

Tell Robin your priorities

Robin says, “I would like to hear from you. Tell me about your concerns and priorities for your family and neighourhood. Tell me what “My Kind of Cobham and Downside” looks like, share your ideas which could further improve the quality of life in our village and preserve its very distinct community spirit.”

“I look forward to hearing from you and promise to respond to every email.”

Even more importantly I will take your ideas forward.
