Electing your Police and Crime Commissioner this Thursday, 15 November

12 Nov 2012

I think the role of a Police and Crime Commissioner is flawed.  Yet more evidence of the national government meddling in local affairs using the euphemism of localism to hide national control.  However, it is now the law and as a very low turnout is expected (and a weird voted system is being used too) it is up to us to vote for sound candidates to avoid handling control of the police to a maverick.  Please make the effort to vote for a candidate who will serve us well.  Naturally, I would prefer you to vote for Nick O'Shea.  You can listen to all of the candidates here.  I  know that many of you did not vote in the recent local election but please do not stay at home this time.  Non-voting is regarded as apathy not disenchantment.  If you are fed up or against the process spoil your ballot by writing what you think on the ballot paper. It would freak out the politicians if "none of the above" came first!
