Elmbridge Lib Dems announce new Leadership team
Elmbridge Liberal Democrats are pleased to announce that Cllr Bruce McDonald and Cllr Mike Rollings have been elected Leader and Deputy Leader of the Elmbridge Liberal Democrat Council Group.
Cllr McDonald, elected in Claygate ward, is one of three new Councillors elected at the recent Elmbridge Borough Elections along with Judy Sarsby (Weybridge Riverside ward) and Jez Langham (Long Ditton ward).
Cllr Bruce McDonald said, “We are delighted with the support the ideas we set out in our campaign and in in Our Vision received across Elmbridge. Now more than ever as we emerge from the pandemic, and the government is set to announce further steps to diminish our planning powers, is the time to stand up for Local Democracy and Liberal Democrat values. As a group we are now united in focussing on that task.”
As is usual after an election the Liberal Democrat Councillor Group has held an election for Group Offices. The outcome is:
Leader Bruce McDonald, (Claygate)
Deputy Leader Mike Rollings (Claygate)
Chair Ashley Tilling (Weybridge Riverside)
Alex Coomes (Claygate)
Barry Fairbank (Long Ditton)
Jez Langham (Long Ditton )
Vicki Macleod (Weybridge Riverside)
Judy Sarsby (Weybridge Riverside)
We are disappointed that at this time Neil Houston has decided to leave the Group and not be part of this reinvigorated and energised team determined to deliver on the manifesto we were elected on.
We thank Neil for his service over many years to the Liberal Democrats.
