Elmbridge Liberal Democrats help to secure continued funding to support young people into employment.
The Elmbridge Liberal Democrats are pleased to announce that funding has been secured by Runnymede and Elmbridge Borough Councils to continue to help support young people into work - either through training, apprenticeships or other means.
A total of £54,000 will be used to help support young people via the Elmbridge and Runnymede Youth Hub. The hub, delivered by Brooklands Technical College, will equip upto 120 people with the skills they need to get into work.
The scheme, which was established during 2021, has provided young people with support in a variety of areas related to finding a career, including; CV writing, interview preparation, placement and wrap around support, help managing personal finances.
Liberal Democrat Cllr Kirsty Hewens, Portfolio Holder for Enterprise, Parking and Local Economy, said ‘The Youth Hub has now supported over 480 young people since its launch, making a real impact to connect people with jobs and training and helping our young residents take the first steps in their careers. I’d encourage young people across Elmbridge to get in touch and see how the Hub can help’.
