The Liberal Democrat Group on Elmbridge Borough Council has been hard at work to tackle the issue of overstay boat moorings that are illegally moored across Elmbridge.

We are pleased to report that as a result of our consistent campaigning, and collaboration with the Environment Agency, there have been two significant raids conducted by the Environment Agency in collaboration with Elmbridge Borough Council on 24th September and 8th October. These actions have led to vessel removals and compliance measures being enforced.

Council Leader, Mike Rollings stated:

“Residents can be assured of our commitment to ensuring only legal and safe moorings are permitted on the River Thames in Elmbridge”, adding, “We will continue to collaborate with our partners at the Environment Agency, Surrey Police and Surrey County Council to take action against unauthorised moorings.”.

Elmbridge Liberal Democrats will continue to advocate for action against unauthorised moorings.
