Foodbank Donations
Many supermarkets have donation points for long life foodstuffs.
Runnymede & Weybridge have details here: where to donate food
East Elmbridge foodbank has a number of collection points where you can donate food across Hinchley Wood, Thames Ditton, Long Ditton and Weston Green. These are at people’s houses so look out for the signs. Locations are:
Southwood Gardens covers top end of Claygate Lane, Manor Drive, Claygate Lane school end, Couchmore Ave, Aragon Ave covers Summer Rd, Avondale Ave, Hillcrest covers Hinchley Drive and Hinchley Close, Eastmont, Greenways x 2, Harefield, Manor Road South, Medina Ave covers Heathside and Harefield, Lower Green Rd, Manor Road North, Lynwood Rd, Thorkhill, Angel Road, Speer Rd
Foodbanks welcome assistance in the form of financial donations so that they can buy essential items such as nappies and sanitary products which are not normally donated. Donations can either be made through the individual food banks or by visiting Surrey Information Point for details of local food banks. For Weybridge, a new donations page has been set up: Weybridge donations
Alternatively, a financial donation can be made to the Trussell Trust, who look after more than 1,200 food bank centres across the UK. They provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis.
- Make a one-off donation to the Trussell Trust; or
- Text TRUSSELL then your amount (eg TRUSSELL 5 for a £5 donation) to 70085
