Lib Dem-led Elmbridge Borough Council delivers balanced draft budget for 2025-26

On 5th February Elmbridge Borough Council released details of the draft 2025/2026 budget. Despite government-imposed financial constraints on local Government, the Lib Dem/Residents Association Coalition has successfully achieved a balanced budget for 2025/26, without using reserves.
The plan takes a residents-first approach to financial management; prioritising community investment, and supporting the most vulnerable residents.
This budget delivers:
- Maintained 30-minute free parking in Walton town centre car parks, extended to 10 village car parks.
- Continued the discounted parking schemes for low-income residents working in Elmbridge
- An additional £500,000 to support housing-vulnerable members of our community
- £1.28 Million to refurbish Hurst Pool
- £100,000 for food safety standards
The Elmbridge Liberal Democrats are proud to be supporting residents, and delivering a budget that is fiscally responsible while also improving our borough.
