Lib Dems urge Long Ditton residents to share views on 20mph speed limit proposals

Over the weekend, Lib Dem Councillors Neil Houston and Jez Langham have been speaking to residents to hear their views about the proposed 20mph speed limit that Surrey County Council are proposing on roads across Long Ditton.
Long Ditton Councillor Neil Houston said
“I feel the changes are necessary around the schools, however, I know not everyone agrees with me. I would like to see it [20mph] extended down to Portsmouth Road, and it would be good to be in line with Kingston which has 20mph limits.
However, I do not want it to go the whole way around. I am also aware that this issue splits the community, so it is important that residents have the chance to engage with the consultation so that their views can be heard.”
Long Ditton residents can fill out the Survey by clicking this link or by writing to Traffic Regulation Orders Team, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ before the 7th of March 2025.
The Liberal Democrats believe that Long Ditton residents should have the final say on changes to their streets, which is why it is so important that residents have the chance to properly engage with the consultation before the deadline.
