New large ward for Weybridge
Reducing the number of Elmbridge councillors from 60 to 48 means that the borough wards need to be enlarged and to have fewer of them. With the national government’s proposals now published we can now look at them in detail. The red lines are the proposed wards and the blue are boundaries of the present wards where different. Two of Weybridge’s wards will be merged. All of Weybridge North ward will be merged with most of Weybridge South ward to become Weybridge Riverside. The remaining part of Weybridge South ward will become part of the new Weybridge St George’s Hill ward which, in turn, will gain the southern part of the old Hersham South ward (containing Whitely and surrounding countryside). Oaklands Park will gain all of Burwood Park from Hersham South ward to become Oaklands and Burwood Park. For more background on the process so far.
