Seven Hills Road Roadworks

20 Aug 2013

I did not want to bother you about this unless the recent inspection uncovered a problem. As suspected, there is a collapsing culvert in Seven Hills Road, in the section between Byfleet Road and Burwood Road, Hersham. There is a visible depression in the centre of the road, and a second (lesser) depression to one side. It is taking a pounding with every HGV that goes over it. Surrey has arranged for closure for 27 August and expect the works to take a week. Surrey plans to undertake as many other tasks in the road whilst it is closed: sign cleaning, cutting back vegetation, ditch clearing, gully emptying, repair sunken gully frames, etc. There are also emergency gas works that need to be done in the same section, and Surrey will coordinate with them if at all feasible.
