Small Biz Saturday

There’s no doubt that the lockdowns and tiered restrictions of 2020 have taught us how much we need our local high streets and small businesses. But many of them are at serious risk after months of lockdown - which doesn’t just threaten the vibrancy and life of our local communities, but also jobs and the wider local economy. 

The British Chamber of Commerce has warned that almost one million small businesses across the country could be at risk of collapsing due to the economic impact of having been closed during the lockdowns and the Covid restrictions this year. That’s why the Lib Dems have been campaigning to encourage people to Shop Local, protect local businesses and save jobs. 

So Small Business Saturday (Saturday 5th December) is ever more important this year: a fantastic chance to get out, spend money and show support to the wonderful businesses that we have across Elmbridge and provide a boost to them as they prepare for the run-up to Christmas.
