Weybridge's New Youth Centre launches
New Youth Centre launches at 3pm on Friday, 21 February 2014. Following the refurbishment and recruitment of four new youth workers, Weybridge Youth Centre is all set to re-launch at 3pm, on Friday, 21 February. The Youth Centre will still be in Portmore Way Funded by Surrey and delivered by The Eikon Charity, Weybridge Youth Centre is new and exciting for young people. The centre works directly with young people to develop their social and personal education by providing programmes of activity and services within the youth centre setting. Initially, the centre will be open for two nights a week during term time and will run programmes during school holidays. The launch is an opportunity for the people of Weybridge to view the new facilities first hand and meet the staff. There will also be lots of activities on the day including an outside climbing wall, table tennis competition, mocktail making, food and music. Everyone is welcome, young and old, so drop in to see what it’s all about! Centre Manager, Darius Baird says: 'Our new Youth Centre provides young people (11-18) with a dedicated space where they can socialise and access information and support. We are excited about the future of the youth centre and look forward to welcoming young people through our doors’.
