Liberal Democrats saving the Walton trees

Cllr Nick Dodds and the Liberal Democrat Team have been fighting hard to ensure that green spaces in Elmbridge are secured and local trees are protected.

Nick has worked with local residents groups in Walton to protect the trees on Walton High Street. The trees on both sides of the road were earmarked for removal, but works were stopped due to outrage by local residents.

Nick said, “No one can understand why Conservative run Surrey County Council (SCC) decided to remove the trees. The trees are beautiful assets to our local community and should be left alone to thrive. I have collaborated with local residents groups to save these trees, which were butchered by SCC.”

Cllr Dodds successfully campaigned to stop any further damage to the trees, which are beginning to bloom again.
