Andy Burton

Your Surrey County Council candidate for Esher, Claygate and Oxshott North

Esher has been the home to me, my wife and three children for the last 20 years.  Our last child was born in Kingston Hospital, all three children have been happily schooled in the area and are now at UK universities.  Whilst I have worked in the City for most of this period, I have been actively involved in many aspects of local life:  a school governor, a singer in a church choir, a rugby coach at Cobham, a member of a local cycling club and President of a local Catholic association.

I first became involved in local politics and with the Liberal Democrats in the 2019 General Election out of frustration with the policies of the then current Conservative Government and the declining state of many of our vital public services.

Tories run Surrey Council have failed us on may local services; schools are suffering SEND, Climate Change, Roads Highways  are in tatters

If elected as a County Councillor, I will serve to maintain and improve these for the people of Elmbridge and Surrey.
